The leaflet: a rock in times of crisis

In a year dominated by uncertainty, many consumers are longing for consistency and normality - good conditions for the leaflet, which enjoyed particular popularity in 2020! And that's not all: despite the crisis and lockdown regulations, delivery companies not only proved to be reliable partners, but were even able to improve the quality of deliveries.

It's no news that the past year was characterised by crises. But in every crisis, there are also loyal companions. Banana bread, for example, enjoyed great popularity. Jigsaw puzzles also became true lockdown favourites. And the leaflet once again proved to be indispensable in 2020!

At the beginning of the first lockdown, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding the delivery process. Fortunately, the feared lockdowns did not materialise in 2020. It quickly became clear that there was no need to fear a collapse in the "last mile" of the delivery process. On the contrary: delivery and logistics companies were able to bring the situation under control within a few weeks. And that's not all - the annual "Delivery Quality" report from Zielpunkt-Marketing (zpmt) shows that the distribution quality for weekly distributions has actually increased compared to the previous year at 89.2%. This means that the 2020 figure is just 1.3% points behind the "all-time best" from 2009.

The Weigel Institute also found that the readership reach and acceptance of advertising leaflets and leaflets increased in 2020, even significantly in some regions of Germany. A successful year for free print media and leaflets.

Due to this "new" greater acceptance, there is also a high probability that this new level will continue even after the end of the lockdown.
